Steve de Perrot has studied art since childhood when he took private
drawing and painting classes with numerous Lancaster County artists. Through
high school and college Steve pursued his interest in watercolor painting
and developed his passion for working in clay in 1982, while a student
at Juniata College.
After college, he continued to explore the nature of clay through workshops
and an intensive one year assistantship with Bernville, PA potter John
Troup. Steve established Pots by de Perrot in 1985. Shirley, his wife,
has been working in the business since 1988 and adds her inventive basket
handles to produce eye-catching, collaborative vessels.
Recent years have brought tremendous growth, the most exciting being
their two children John and Danielle, and the new studio and gallery in
Steve's hometown of Lititz, PA.
