MARKET VISION STATEMENT

Count Nicholas von Zinzendorf of Saxony, Germany, founder of the modern day Moravian Church, established our town and named it Lititz in 1756. From the beginning, only Moravians were permitted to live in the village which lasted until 1855 when Lititz was opened to others thus creating a community that has a historic and friendly appeal with an entrepreneurial spirit. Buildings along Main Street dating back to the early 18th century are quiet sentinels of our earlier settlers. These Centuries old buildings have been historically restored and now house over seventy independently owned shops and boutiques.

Now, utilizing our historic attributes, our sense of community and the entrepreneurial spirit, Lititz has the tremendous opportunity to move into the next century with the perfect ingredients of hometown charm with an upscale and sophisticated urban flair.

  • Community Hub - continuing support of Lititz Springs Park established as early as 1778 which displays incomparable beauty, a place of gala celebrations, family gatherings and a place of community pride, the development of activities that brings our residents together in social settings strengthening the community bond and creating more green and “third places” for gathering of friends, neighbors and visitors.
  • Regional Destination Hub - enticing both local and regional residents to the downtown’s expanded dining and cultural venues, enriching both its daytime and evening vibrancy with special and social events, retail establishments and gathering places that enhanced and cultivates a “sense of place” and a “sense of community”
  • Tourism Hub - enhancing and promoting historic sites, community events and national recognized attractions as well as growing our hospitality infrastructure to support these amenities. Will continue to pursue national award that give Lititz the recognition of a well sought after tourist destination regionally, nationally and internationality.

Lititz will create a synergistic future by partnering with public, private, non-profit organizations, residents and business owners to realize and sustain this vision for the community.
